BIO
b. 1997, Mesa, Arizona
Alexandria Trudgen is a fine artist living and working out of Southern California. She grew up being creative and continues to create daily. Her body of work includes oil paintings, drawings, and sculptures. She makes it a goal to explore other ways of being creative as well.
Alexandria starts off planning a piece by collecting references and drawing it out. She is inspired by finding the colorful nature and likeness in each subject. She uses many different techniques to approach her art. Each piece and medium calls for something different. She may build up layers of paint over time or use the Alla Prima method. She works from life, photos and imagination. Alexandria is passionate about creating varied beauty with reference and symbolism to spirituality, deeper meaning, and captured moments. As a multifaceted fine artist she desires to create work that can communicate in unique ways to diverse people. She believes people thrive when they are surrounded by beauty and connected spiritually. Alexandria’s goal as an artist is to bring beauty, diversity, feeling, peace and connectedness into the world. Each work may be done using different methods and subject matter.
In the beginning of her college journey she attended art classes at her local Arizona community college that opened her eyes to the possibilities of choosing a creative career. She explored many mediums including printmaking at the University of Fairbanks, Alaska. Alexandria then chose the path of acquiring a BFA and moved to Laguna Beach, California to attend Laguna College of Art and Design. She is studied painting, drawing and sculpting. She graduated in May of 2021.
Since graduating she has been working as an artist for a custom shoe company, doing commissions and continuing to create. She is a part of the California Art Club and has a mentor through their mentorship program, Christopher Slatoff. Through this program she continues to learn about sculpture, helping with Slatoff's commissions, and gaining the knowledge he shares. Through this club she has opportunities to exhibit her art in their shows and competitions. She will continue to exhibit and create commission work as well as personal work.
